There is no verified universal reset hour
The official API documentation describes concurrency limits by model and account. It does not establish a daily midnight quota reset for every DeepSeek user. API limits apply to API calls; web and app users should check the notice shown in their own account. Read the current API limit policy.
WhenResets does not read your DeepSeek account, track a personal quota, or send DeepSeek availability alerts. For chat, use the notice in your own app or browser. For the API, start with the response code below.
API errors: choose the right next step
| Response | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 402 | Your API balance is insufficient. | Check the account balance and top up if needed. |
| 429 | Requests are arriving too quickly or exceed concurrency. | Reduce simultaneous requests and pace retries. |
| 503 | The service is overloaded. | Wait briefly before retrying; check service status. |
| 401 | The API key did not authenticate. | Check the key and configuration before retrying. |
Waiting for midnight will not replenish a depleted paid balance or fix an incorrect key. Save the response body as well as its status code so you can distinguish these cases. A chat message such as “server busy” is not itself an API response code; do not automatically treat the two as the same account limit.
Concurrency is capacity in use
An API request occupies a concurrent connection from submission until its response finishes. Limits are applied at account level, even when you use multiple API keys. DeepSeek's policy lists model-specific limits and explains that exceeding them can produce HTTP 429. Source: rate limit and isolation.
For an application, queue work and bound the number of in-flight requests. Add a delay between retries instead of immediately resubmitting a whole batch. A new API key under the same account is not a separate concurrency allowance. Check the current policy for the model you actually call before choosing a worker count.
Separate service recovery from your account
The official DeepSeek status page lists API and chat services separately and provides incident history. Match the affected component to the product you are using. A service incident may explain failed requests; it does not state when your personal allowance renews.
If there is no relevant incident, return to your exact account notice or API error. For an unresolved problem, keep the timestamp, timezone, model or app, and error text. Remove API keys and personal data from screenshots before sharing them with support. This page is a guide to diagnosing the limit, not a live view of your DeepSeek account.
